  • 12-1aHave you prepared an exception handling policy for such problems?
    • When a problem occurs in the system, check whether exception handling is performed, such as stopping functions, switching screens, recovering to the initial state of the provided service, rejecting inputs, and avoiding decisions.

    • Provide an explanation to medical staff about the system’s response and the reason why system operation was not adequate when such an exception handling is conducted.
✓ For example, a healthcare professional as the system user should be recommended to provide a diagnosis or prescription by him/herself if there is an error in the inference result. The medical staff may also be alerted to be cautious for low accuracy and reliability when the inference result is highly uncertain.
✓ A patient as the system user must be informed to request help from the medical staff in charge or visit the nearest medical institution in case of an issue when inputting medical data. Other possible measures would be rejecting input if the data input is inaccurate due to misuse or error in the device.
