11-1Have you made an effort to remove bias due to source code and user interface?Determine applicability: Consider this question if you are designing the data access method using source codes in the development phase of the healthcare AI system or providing information via user interface and interaction, and determine if the requirement has been satisfied.
• Since the user makes the final decision in healthcare AI systems, bias could develop due to a user interface that implicitly encourages a particular choice.
• Check whether the developer’s limited background knowledge or prejudice has been incorporated in the codes through periodic reviews in the implementation phase to get rid of bias.
• It is ideal to check in advance for presentation bias or ranking bias in the user interface and interaction to design a system that can prevent bias.
