06-1bHave you used a heterogeneous device to ensure data diversity?• Imaging data are obtained for medical data using devices such as X-ray machines and CT and MRI scanners, but using more than two devices to obtain the same type of data for reinforcing data diversity or reducing redundancy* in data is uncommon.* Collectively refers to redundancy in which the same function is conducted independently by several institutions
• But caution must be taken to avoid data bias caused by hardware, as there are cases of a rapid increase in diagnostic errors due to using data obtained from devices different from those used in training.
• The Korean government is promoting the medical MyData policy along with the growth of the digital healthcare industry, and various medical institutions are working on big data projects for managing scattered data. There are also improvements in AI system accuracy through these data integrations.
