  • 01-1aHave you identified the risk factors of the AI system and the ripple effect?
    • The risk factors of AI systems differ from risks in software and hardware-based systems. Unlike defects and errors in software and deterioration and abrasion of hardware, risk factors of AI systems must be inferred which includes bias from features of data-based analysis, absence of explanation, and attacks on the model. The key details and classifications of these factors are presented in ISO/IEC 23894:2023 and ISO/IEC 24028:2020, as noted in the reference below.

    • Analyze the causes for each identified risk factor and the possible outcomes. The possible outcomes refer to circumstances and incidents that negatively impact society, such as discriminatory circumstances that can lead to accidents that cause harm to humans.

    • The risk scale or levels of outcomes caused by risk factors can be assessed using criteria such as severity and frequency. This refers to the ripple effect of the risk factors; after evaluating the risk factors, prepare countermeasures by prioritizing risk factors with significant ripple effects.

    • However, you may also implement the criteria appropriate to the situation to combine them with severity and frequency when measuring and assessing the ripple effects, as mentioned above.
